From searching all over France to finding peace on alpine passes—how 29-year-old Provence rider Margot found confidence, escape, and self-discovery on her bone-stock 2013 Suzuki GSX-R 600.
Among the sun-drenched coastal roads and lavender-lined lanes of Provence, 29-year-old Margot (@southy_biker) found her ultimate sanctuary on two wheels. Wanting to step into the world of supersports, she spent months searching for the right machine across France, only to locate a pristine, low-mileage, all-black 2013 Suzuki GSX-R 600 just thirty minutes from her doorstep.

Resisting the urge to modify or tweak a single part, Margot embraced the bike in its pure factory form. For her, the GSX-R isn't about race lap times or aggressive modifications—it’s an instrument of freedom. Taking on a solo three-day road trip through the high alpine passes of France, she conquered both mountain curves and personal doubts. Across thousands of kilometers, her dark supersport has become a source of quiet confidence and a reminder of what lies beyond one's limits.

IN CONVERSATION WITH Margot
RWN MOTOZINE: Who are you, where are you based, and what do you do when you’re not out riding or in the garage?
Margot: Hello! My name is Margot. I’m 29 years old and I live in the south of France, in Provence. Besides riding my motorcycle, I love exploring and discovering the places around me, because there are so many beautiful spots in this region! Beautiful scenery and a sunset and I’m the happiest person alive!
RWN MOTOZINE: What is the exact make, model, and year of the bike, and how did you get your hands on it?
Margot: My motorcycle is a 2013 GSX-R 600. I wanted to try out a sport bike, and this model seemed perfect for that! After several months of searching all over France, I found one just 30 minutes from my home! It had very low mileage and was all black just the way I like it!
RWN MOTOZINE: What have you modified, restored, or tailored on the bike? Was there a specific challenge along the way?
Margot: I haven’t modified a single thing on it, it was made for me!
RWN MOTOZINE: Is there a specific memory, road trip, or moment with this bike that stands out to you?
Margot: My best memory with it is my first road trip. I set off alone for three days in the Alps, which was a challenge for me at first since I’d never done one before! In the end, being alone with my motorcycle on those mountain passes was the best thing I could have done for myself. It’s the motorcycle I’ve ridden the most kilometers on and seen the most beautiful things with! I’m so proud of her and so grateful.
RWN MOTOZINE: What does motorcycle culture mean to you? Feel free to share anything else you’d like our readers to know.
Margot: I can’t quite explain it, but this bike has filled a void inside me that I didn’t even know existed. It pushes me to go beyond my limits, to put things into perspective, and to gain confidence in myself and what I’m capable of. It’s an escape when life gets a little tough, and a real joy to share with other riders.
RWN MOTOZINE: Margot, thank you for the craft, the time, and for keeping the raw spirit of the culture alive.
